Construction Inspector
CurrentInspects and monitors all phases of construction projects including on-site work performed by contractors, utility companies, traffic staff, and local municipalities for Regional projects, including road, sewer, water main and landfill contracts, in support of the project manager.Reviews project contract plans, specifications, and engineering designs for constructability issues related to site conditions. Verifies construction materials and methods, per standards and specifications. Records deviations from standards; informs project manager.Works with contractors to remedy issues related to project work deficiencies. Maintains detailed records, and keeps project manager informed.Uses conventional survey equipment and techniques. Maintains levelling equipment.Coordinates and schedules materials and compaction testing. Notifies contractor and project manager of deficiencies.
