In my role as Digital Marketing Communications Specialist at Paradise Valley Unified School District, one of my main responsibilities was the successful implementation and monitoring of accessibility standards on the district suite of sites, ensuring we meet our ADA Section 508 obligations. This involved intimate knowledge of WCAG 2.0 and WAI-ARIA principles, template and content updates and advising suppliers and stakeholders of their accessibility requirements.I was also responsible for the development and extension of the PVSchools brand within a very constrained budget. On top of traditional print advertising and physical marketing materials, I ran innovative PPC campaigns on Facebook, Google, Instagram and more, to raise the profile of the district and the unique programs offered and, ultimately, to boost enrollment. I also conceptualized and authored online content, while seeking opportunities to engage customers, conduct content marketing activities and provide customer information on social media platforms, e-newsletters, online forums and news sites. This required strong SEO knowledge, which I was able to implement within our campaigns and across the greater website.I was the main lead for the district website redevelopment (twice) and was responsible for the training of 50 web editors at the school sites, and their principals, in web best practice and accessibility principles. I was also responsible for social media across the district. In my previous positions as Marketing Manager at the University of New England, my responsibilities included the management of the Marketing Unit, which includes a team of marketing specialists, a CRM technician, a web editor, an event coordinator and casual staff. I was responsible for the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, social media marketing, events and direct marketing. I was also responsible for brand management.
