I have always had a strong passion for sports, which naturally guided me toward coaching from an early age. Throughout high school, I embraced every coaching opportunity that came my way, and this commitment has only grown stronger. Currently, I am in my fourth year of Sports Development and Coaching at the University of Stirling, building on a solid foundation laid by completing an HND in Coaching and Developing Sport at New College Lanarkshire. During my time in the HND program, I gained invaluable experience. Also accumulating over 150 hours of coaching with North Lanarkshire Council. This hands-on experience allowed me to develop my skills and confidence as a coach. I also actively sought out various volunteering opportunities and completed a placement at Uddingston Hockey Club, where I was able to broaden my coaching portfolio by working with multiple sports. This experience not only enhanced my versatility but also significantly boosted my confidence in coaching unfamiliar sports.In addition to my coaching background, I have taken on leadership roles within the Boys Brigade, where I achieved the Queen’s Badge—the highest award possible within the organization. This experience instilled in me a strong sense of dedication, leadership, and responsibility, which I carry into my coaching. I have also played football competitively, receiving the Midfielder of the Year award at AFC Hartwood, which was a personal highlight in my sporting journey. Furthermore, I am committed to making a positive impact in the community, as demonstrated by my organization of two successful suicide prevention tournaments aimed at raising awareness for mental health issues. These events were highly impactful and further solidified my desire to use sport as a tool for social change. Through these varied experiences, I have grown into a well-rounded coach and leader, with a deep passion for both sports development and community engagement.
