My name is Arran Addington and I am a Project Manager and consultant. My focus is on helping communities throughout Tennessee navigate the process of using available State and Federal funding on transportation projects like roads and bridges. I am part of the Collier Engineering Team here in the Nashville. I have been helping local governments get their road and bridge projects completed for over fifteen years now.My degree is in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.After I graduated college I decided to fulfill my boyhood dream of playing Army. I enlisted in the Army and flew as a Crew Chief on Blackhawk helicopters. I was stationed at Ft. Benning GA, Camp Stanley, Republic of Korea, and finally with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) at Ft. Campbell KY.After a 6 year enlistment my fun-meter was pegged out and I was ready to not play Army any more. For several years I had a mix of jobs, including doing a little flight instruction while I worked on building a career.The thing that I missed was the sense of purpose, and service that I felt when I was in the Army. Fortunately, a close family member had just retired from TDOT. After having several long talks with him about what he had done at TDOT, it became clear to me that is what I needed to do as well. My time at TDOT helped me see that my passion is to help people solve complicated problems. For a small local government, getting their road or bridge funded through TDOT can be a challenge. That is where I can help.My long term goal is to help as many communities get their transportation and road safety projects constructed as I can. I take a great deal of pride in knowing the projects that I am a part in will be around much longer than I will be.
