As a trained professional birth doula I offer guidance and provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to families before, during, and shortly after childbirth. A doula has many roles, including advocating for the client, encouraging and helping the client fulfill specific desires they might have for their birth, maintaining their birth plan, and keeping them informed and supported if unexpected changes to their birth plan should arise. I provide my clients with individual support during labor and delivery from start to finish with comfort measures and pain relief techniques that include breathing, relaxation, massage, and laboring positions. I also work with their partner, reassuring them and guiding them in the ways they can comfort the laboring person.

I worked as a Lead Medical Assistant for the leading comprehensive cardiology clinic in my state. I multi-task throughout a fast-paced environment to ensure quality patient care. As a medical assistant, I maintain HIPPA laws and patient privacy. Patient education is a core part of my daily duties. I educate patients on changes in their management-based care. I ensure patient understand their insurance benefits for testing, labs, and procedures. I also use a wide range of technology throughout the day and often troubleshoot issues for my peers. Since I became the Lead Medical Assistant, the turnover rate has decreased dramatically and patient satisfaction scores have increased by 26% percent in a 4-month time span. I schedule Holter monitors and collect co-payment at the time of service if applicable. Process improvement is something I am often conscious of and seek to find solutions for.
