Electronics Design Engineer Ii
CurrentMACOM acquired Wolfspeed's RF business, which develops 70% of the world's GaN-on-SiC wafers. I've had the priviledge to be a very active individual contributor to the RF Power group, which in itself has some of the most brilliant and experienced designers in the industry. Key responsibilities and contributions include:• Designed GaN-on-SiC RF Power amplifier transistors using Microwave Office, AXIEM, and HFSS• Calibrated RF power test benches for characterizing my designs over temperature, VSWR stress levels, and input dynamic range• Designed TRL calibration standards, Load-Pull fixtures, and misc. fixtures up to 8GHz• Actively contributed to model validation reports, solving stability problems on my designs and colleague's designs, and evaluating new GaN-on-SiC die in packaged form• Activities that contributed to the bottom line but were not captured on the MACOM website: 1) design of three evaluation fixtures for G28V5 PCM structures covering the entire portfolio's GaN-on-SiC die testing needs 2) layout proposal for X-band MMIC (DRC based drawing) 3) moved other projects forward belonging to former colleagues, that were not my designs originally• Design portfolio (more in the launch pipeline): MAPC-A1107-AB, MAPC-A3009-AB, MAPC-A3008-AB, MAPC-A3006-AB/ASTypical applications: Avionics, TACAN, DME, IFF, Military Radio, Tactical Radio, L-band, S-band, C-band, radar, EW, Electronic Warfare, ISM, General Amplfications
