Mechelen Beach is a seasonal beachbar in the city of Mechelen. About 600 tons of sand and a big party tent get dropped at Transit M every summer and from there on it is up to us to transform this into the most beautiful, cosy and fun beachbar in the wide neighbourhood.IN SHORT:- Led marketing efforts by cold calling potential partners and creating tailored packages, resulting in promising & sustainable partnerships.- Managed a team of over 50 volunteers, creating work rosters and organizing teambuilding activities to enhance team spirit.- Successfully transformed Mechelen Beach into a popular summer destination through effective marketing and HR strategies.From a MARKETING perspective these were my tasks in the last 3 summers:- Cold calling (/mailing) the marketing & sponsorship representatives of companies & local entrepreneurs that could be interested in partnering up with our concept- Following up prospects and close them into opting for a package - Create tailor-made packages for partners with clear communication goals & needs- Quality control of visuals before and during the event (and in digital communication afterwards)HR responsibilities:- Starting up the entire team from 0 to over 50 volunteers & working students.- Creation & planning of workrosters for the whole crew (bar, cleaning team, bar managers...)- Communication about tasks, responsibilities, fees & fun(!)- Introduction to every new employee/volunteer- Hands-on management of the team onsite where needed - Organisation & planning of fun activities for the crew before&after opening to increase teamspirit and fun!- Planning of the bi-yearly teambuildings

During this 4-month period at Eventbureau Cravat I was already able to take my first steps of my professional career before graduating. As a Junior Event Manager, focused on the sports(-related) events that Cravat produces, I was able to learn a whole lot about how events get produced from trying to sell an event to a customer to the on-site management and evaluations afterwards.As a junior I always was directly in contact with and got coached by a Senior or AM within the company. My creativity and ability to solve problems in stressful situations got further developed here.

In my role as president of Faculty Student Union Apolloon I first and foremost had an incredibly huge amount of fun. While having all this fun I have had the most enrichening year of my life where I increased and gained a lot of skills that will come in handy in a bunch of professional settings. Mostly ofcourse my leadership skills gained a boost in this year through the operational management of a team of 34 incredibly enthousiastic young volunteers who wanted to make a difference for Apolloon in their student-time. Next to just being a leader it was important to really get active in a lot of fields to support the team of volunteers who often had little to no experience with their tasks. During this period i have develop the following skills in particular:- Sales (Selling the value of Apolloon to potential partners who could gain from Apolloon's wide variety of communication channels as well as selling the image and the value of what we did to new incoming students)- Representation (representing +3000 students' opinions in several committees of the faculty, students and university)- Effective & positive communication- Stress Management- Moral boosting- many more...
