At BMS, I led an international team of medical communications professionals supporting the content and publication strategies of Global and local teams across the world. This included the development of bespoke content covering the entire portfolio and leading transformational change in the operational model. I was also the medical lead for the company omnichannel strategy. I was the first Global Medical Affairs Lead for Immuno-Oncology for European, Australia, Canada (EMAC) and Emerging Markets (Intercon). Key responsibilities included acting as the Global strategy representative for markets; regional reviewer of clinical trials/ISRs; ensuring launch readiness/optimisation; working with R&D, Commercial and Market Access to ensure EMAC/Intercon medical alignment integration into the broader R&D, medical and access activities/plans. Also served as the Acting Global Medical Affairs Biomarker Lead. Global Oncology Medical Affairs, Novartis & GSK: Scientific lead for several launches across multiple products and indications. Successfully built quality relationships with stakeholders through trust, openness and appropriate scientific exchange. Actively led and advised on the development of new policies and strategies across the organisation to ensure highest standards of governance and audit readiness. Extensive line management experience and a mentor to several people. Key responsibilities included development and execution of Medical Affairs Plans, competitive intelligence, congress activities, training, med ed, advisory boards, internal launch meetings and budget ownership. Led development of key scientific communications to support launch plans and post-marketing activities. Scientific point for input into global marketing activities (annual brand plans, detail aids, digital tools, patient brochures, copy approval). Effectively worked across matrices to build a consistent Global position, e.g. member of Global Publications Team, Global launch teams, Digital R&D team.
