My role with Coffey included accountability for the successful delivery of multiple projects both with direct client responsibilities and indirectly via the performance management of several project teams. Responsibilities extended to overall business performance including internal reporting, human resources functions and the overall management of the business development function for the state.I successfully operated as Project Director both locally and internationally on a broad range of large hotel/leisure, gaming, retail, commercial, health, educational and residential projects for both new development and live site refurbishments. Guiding all phases from client conception, schematic design, design development, authority approvals, head contractor procurement strategy implementation and management, project delivery performance / role of superintendent, contract management through to project completion / close out. The project commission was to deliver on behalf of Las Vegas Sands the retail tenancydesign and construction of nearly 1 million square feet of leading-edge retail space for the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort development. The resort attracted many of the world’s biggest brands, together with top Asian names in the retail and F&B sectors. The team under my direction included a mix of expat managers and local delivery managers, totaling approx. 20 no. at peak. The final result was the successful and seamless delivery of over 350 tenancies to all areas of the Integrated Resort including the Hotel, Casino, BOH and Mall. Additional functions in Singapore encompassed acting as the Country Manager for and on behalf of Coffey Projects, responsible for the initial business set-up, visas, team recruiting, accounting functions and general authority requirements. Also while undertaking the project, responsibilities extended to Macau on behalf of Las Vegas Sands to review the retail delivery process to implement a streamlined design and approval process.
