This position is for the purpose of guiding, supporting, and assisting individuals and families on the recovery continuum. Will facilitate the planning and implementation of recovery support activities at the Howard County Health Department, with the primary function of providing leadership, program operations support, training, and recovery support services in the Harm Reduction program. Key tasks include determining recovery support needs and referring individuals and families to the appropriate community resources, providing training on harm reduction and program operations to new and existing staff, delegating responsibilities when on-site and operating the Syringe Service Program (SSP), outreach activities, and operating other harm reduction sites. Other duties include the completion and submission of required forms, reports, and daily/monthly data as required by MDH, HCHD and the Behavioral Health Administration. Assistance with various clinics such as the vaccine and seasonal flu clinic may be required.75% Provide peer recovery support services to clients (adults and youth) with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and/or co-occurring disorders to begin and maintain a path to recovery. Provide day-to-day leadership of harm reduction program. Program activities will be at harm reduction operational sites including the SSP fixed sites and mobile sites, and on outreach activities. The Peer Recovery Specialist will:Advocate for clients by speaking on personal experiences regarding substance use, mental health disorders or co-occurring experiences.Determine recovery support needs and refer individuals and families to the appropriate community resources.Assigns, reviews, and approves the work of lower-level Peer Recovery Specialists.Trains lower-level Peer Recovery Specialists.Provides advice and guidance to Peer Recovery Specialists on the resolution of complex concerns when counseling clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The key responsibilities of the Overnight Manager are to assist the Day staff in accomplishing the following: House Manager● Conduct face to face check-ins with residents and provide any needed follow up as requested by the Executive Director● Ensure adequate supervision of residents ● Oversee, manage and Weeknight Kitchen Chores ● Oversee and manage the Weeknight Duties - Trash, Clothing Laundry, Cleaning Sheets, Watering Plants, Getting Debit Cards For Program Fee, random drug screenings ● Follow up on weekend chores that have not been completed ● Oversee weekly medication refill process - Make sure residents get meds filled every week - Inform residents and day staff of any upcoming medication needs ● Document “notable” client interactions with staff, interns and volunteers ● Run the recovery hour program ● Be in attendance for Nick’s Place Dinner Program ● Be onsite for Relapse Prevention Education Program ● Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with program residents ● Daily oversight and upkeep of house operations ● Clean Overnight Managers bathroom weekly ● Attend and participate in staff meetings ● Other duties as assigned Resident and Family interaction ● Keep residents on task and accountable ● Provide direction and guidance in problem solving and decision making ● Assist in answering questions or concerns by family members
