I am a creative thinker with experience in the fields of study skills teaching, instructional design (both curriculum and material creation), English for Academic Purposes, Teaching English as a Foreign Language, proofreading, and content writing.Instructional design/education content development - with my background and qualifications in teaching, I have a strong understanding of the theories and frameworks needed for designing learning and training content and resources. I define effective aims, learning objectives, and learning outcomes, plus I collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to map out an end-to-end learning experience. I create instructional storyboards for learning projects along with lesson materials for both eLearning and in-person workshops using PowerPoint, Word, Forms and other digital tools. I work with LX, UX and SMEs to evaluate the effectiveness of learning and training, adjusting to feedback. I am currently learning Articulate 360 plus I have experience of using LMS platforms.Study skills teaching - I teach in the Higher Education sector, training students on ways to use academic skills to improve their studying. This includes critical reading, academic writing, using references and research techniques. I also coach on holistic competencies such as time management and how to write emails. I am capable of presenting information to large groups of 200 people as well as smaller workshops of 10+ participants, both in person and online. I act as a coach on a 1-2-1 basis, proofreading student work and guiding them on ways to improve their writing. I offer advice on structure, grammar, spelling, criticality and paraphrasing.Content writing - I write engaging, accurate, well researched and original content specifically on history, royalty and shark/marine conservation. As well as developing my own sites, I've written for Discover Magazine, Mental Floss, History is Now Magazine and Sharkophile. I have 20+ years as a dedicated professional in Higher Education and am a trained TEFL coach.
