Sanjay Antony is an Architectural professional with experience in sustainable architectural practices. He pursued Master of Architecture from School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada (SPAV) in the stream of Sustainable Architecture. He is also an active professional orator and training expert for architectural students in developing their undergraduate thesis through his major talk series " VRIKSHA- An undergraduate Architectural Thesis Story". Before joining M.Arch course (2021), Sanjay was associated with Centre of Science and Technology for Rural Development (COSTFORD) co-founded by Padmashri Ar. Laurie Baker, in the roles of Junior Architect (2018-19) and Site Architect (2019-21), where he handled architectural design projects, site project management, project estimation, client relations, labor management, reused material quality check, socio-economic surveys and flood relief works in Kerala in 2018 & 2019. During the same tenure, he also associated with Laurie Baker Centre for Habitat Studies as a Workshop Coordinator & Tutor for alternative and sustainable construction methods like mud wall (cob/adobe), bamboo-mud slabs, bamboo walls, RCC filler slabs, rattrap bond brick masonry and dry-rubble masonry.Sanjay is equipped with the expertise in architectural project design with sustainable strategies, critical thinking in project management and advanced research in building envelope thermal performance & building material analysis. He has professional interests in simple & advanced passive strategies, building performance optimization, alternative construction methods, reduce-reuse-recycle strategies. He have software skills on Rhino-Grasshoper, Design Builder, Revit, Autocad, Sketchup Lumion. His collaborative activities with major organisations like UNICEF, COSTFORD, LBC, BEEP, PRAJWALA have paved him an understanding on social responsibility of an architect in terms of the sustainable development and role on minimizing the impact of global warming. Also, he is an accredited professional of Indian Green Building Council. His latest research work on real time thermal performance assessment of RCC filler slab and flat bamboo-mud slab in warm-humid climate area of Kerala, India got published in SPRINGER. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, Coimbatore. His major academic achievements are First Rank in first semester & Thesis Topper in B.Arch degree , First Rank in first year of M.Arch degree and Best Project Award from 5th Indo-Swiss BEEP camp, CEPT University (2022).
