Developing the solution to provide business process continuation across CRM and ERP systems: • Learned proprietary development tools in 3-4 months on my own to the level sufficient to develop code that is simpler and/or more efficient than the state of the art at the company; • Saved CA$160,000 on testing environments through application of gradual deployment; • Gained a solid understanding of the manufacturing processes at a degree allowing to suggest improvements or guide the people behind these processes in dealing with the intricacies of ERP.

Facilitating knowledge flow among 15 members of an international team, demonstrating ways to high quality implementations. Key achievements: • Maintained best practices document, that allowed every team member to start and finish at least one task within each sprint; • Split feature Epics, to gain smaller benefits every sprint, and to eliminate Sisyphus’es job of rebasing code for half a year with every mainline update; • Provided valuable input to every new feature, maintaining a concise system behaviour; • Guided the team through a dozen of choices between alternative solutions, basing on performance criteria, sometimes ending up with 10-fold speed-ups; • Upgraded the system from Spring Boot 1.5 @ Java 8 to Spring Boot 2.6 @ Java 17; • Conducted a complex domain space migration, eliminating a dozen of bugs; • Found and rooted out a source of an intermittent OOME through analyzing JVM Heap Dump; • Expanded CI pipeline with the ability to run heavy automated tests on several AWS EC2 spot instances, particularly guarding against migration errors, which occurred in roughly 7% of tasks.

Working on rich client frontends and Spring+JPA-based backends in 2-4 people international teams. Highlights: • Freed a monolith system from its distributive trait, providing grounds for its successful on-time release during COVID-19 pandemic, all the while attending DLS course (see below); • Gradually upgraded three legacy systems, reducing delivery time of an average feature from weeks to days; • Employed a code generator, to automate writing roughly 6000 code lines for 20 entities; • Added API over FTP without file system access, brining two more integrations to the system; • Refactored 3rd-party adapter, reducing the number of paid invocations from 24 to 2 per case; • Implemented universal (cursor, touch, multi-touch) D'n'D handling layer for ExtJS 4.1 (before official introduction in version 5), which gave the system almost native experience on tablets; • Enabled hot UI locale reload, helping users to choose their preferred setting without restarting application and losing any data; • Developed fullstack testing 'framework' with support for asserting no multi-user access errors, which happened before with every 20th task.
