Beginning life as a code cutter, to leading a team of around 40 people – providing technical guidance and mentoring, architecturing, designing, and helping build world class software products. But I still write code and fix bugs. I believe in leading by example, literally!No matter the title or the role I play, I still love getting my hands dirty and getting down to writing software. Starting off as a Java developer, then moving to .Net, and also worked quite a bit with JavaScript/TypeScript. I truly believe in using the right tool for the job rather than sticking to what you’re comfortable with. I have also helped architecture, build, test, deploy, and maintain large-scale, multi-tenant, cloud-based applications that are distributed across multiple regions across the globe providing for software that is robust, secure, and scalable.I have been working closely with customers directly for the entirety of my career, from being involved in gathering and understanding requirements to managing their entire infrastructure, getting involved with road map definition, managing on-site and offshore teams, billing, staffing, providing technical leadership, etc. I have mostly worked with Scandinavian customers but worked with a few US and Sri Lankan customers as well.Leading large teams with multiple sub-teams – in addition to contributing with technical skills – I am passionate in helping teammates achieve their goals and reaching greater heights. Not just guiding them technically, but also with soft skill development; removing obstacles, helping them find their place and understand their role, and eventually shaping them up to be leaders themselves.
