The Criminology Department at Simon Fraser University carried out research investigating the use of images in homicide articles in newspapers. I was a part of the research team that helped collect data and analyze the articles. My duties and responsibilities included: * Using a microfiche scanner to find the required articles and scanning them * Ensuring that a certain number of images were scanned every week and were submitted by the deadline * Reading the articles and analyzing them to code in certain variables on an Excel spreadsheet

Sri Lanka

DMS Electronics is a respected IT solution provider in Sri Lanka and work alongside several partners including HP, Oracle and Ingenico. DMS strives to create innovative technological concepts and business solutions. Duties: *Assisted in the planning and organization of a company awards event, which included coordination and communication among the event planning team *Created the designs for the certificates, plaques, posters and banners used at company events and was responsible for printing and setting them up *Worked with a team to successfully organization an HP Helion Cloud customer event *Innovated and strategized to implement new company branding, which included the redesign of company letterheads and presentation layout designs.

Sri Lanka

The Barefoot Gallery in Colombo, Sri Lanka is owned and run by the famous photographer, Dominic Sansoni. I was mentored by him during this period and assisted him in photoshoots and the editing process. Duties: *Helped guests who would visit the gallery *Assisted in running the office *Assisted with a project called “The Ceylon Memory Project” which aims to create a digital archive of old photographs of Sri Lankan families upto 1972*Responsibilities included scanning and editing the photographs and speaking to members of the families to gather information about the photos. *Assisting Mr. Sansoni with editing photographs and during photoshoots
