Director of Engineering: Hands-on Management of the hardware and software engineering teams responsible for conception to general availability of OptiSoft’s traffic signal and homeland security products.► Organized and directed activities of six to eight person engineering team and contractors for the hardware, software, and mechanical development of OptiSoft’s Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) Platform.► Designed robust traffic signal and pedestrian LED controllers and power supplies, achieving an independently verified system MTBF of 49 years with surge immunities 25X over required ITE specifications.

Director of Engineering Uniden Dallas Research and Development Center (DRDC): Management of the hardware, software, and test engineering teams responsible for development to general availability of Uniden’s broadband products. Organized and directed activities of 14 person engineering team with three direct report engineering managers.Director of Engineering Broadband Gateways: Management of hardware engineering team responsible for conception to development of a 900MHz wireless touch panel, advanced cordless handset, and ADSL residential gateway that distributed wired voice, 2.4GHz wireless voice, 10/100 Ethernet, and HPNA2.0 data throughout the home. ► Built, organized, and directed 22 person engineering team successful in concept to general availability of the baseline product. The team consisted of three engineering managers, mechanical engineering, RF engineering, hardware engineering, sustaining engineering, component engineering, PCB layout personnel, and lab technicians.► Designed hand-held battery powered touch panel, the four port wired extension module, and all battery circuit designs.► Organized cost reduction engineering team that interfaced with marketing and upper management to successfully implement a 50% cost reduction project.

Senior Hardware Engineer: In charge of hardware designs for Netcore projects and contracts for Compaq, Motorola, and Uniden.► T1P1 PCS voting member and JTC T1P1.4/TR46.3.3 participant to the seven Technology Ad Hoc Groups (TAGS) forming the 1900MHz cellular standards.► Conception and development of programmable analog/digital ASIC to universally support the interface between Compaq Speedpaq series modems and 12 different types of cellular phones as well as future cellular requirements.

Contract Engineer: Design of network interface cards, copper repeaters, fiber repeaters, MAUs, and Token Ring design, support, and test.

Design Engineer: In charge of hardware circuit designs for Compaq products.► Designed analog hardware for EISA card for monitoring network and system information before, during, and after a system crash. The system is NiCd powered and was awarded two patents for power management design.► Contributing member to the IEEE 802.X Token Ring and Ethernet standards committee.
