I am a UX designer for a company that produces health provider portals. I build wireframes and functional prototypes, perform user tests on work in progress, work as a scrum master at times in our young agile environment, and act as a product owner for our responsive design offerings that are in development.

I was responsible for the front end on multiple customer-facing eCommerce sites for Pearson, a major publisher. Working under the UX umbrella at Pearson, I worked with site managers, editors and stakeholders to define and improve site designs and features. I was responsible for prototypes, design and code implementation in an agile environment. I worked with HTML, CSS and JavaScript (mostly of jQuery variety).I managed the schedule and workload for a UX team of 3, defining much of the technological requirements for the team. I defined standards, best practices and device support for multiple eCommerce sites. I drove our mobile effort by retrofitting existing sites with responsive web design (RWD) techniques. Besides the interface design, I did extensive work in the background to improve the performance of our sites to make the mobile experience as smooth as possible. I worked closely with our UX research team to design and test new site features and designs. During my time at Pearson, I created a pattern library for use by distributed UX teams, to better coordinate design and interaction standards. I worked with product managers and our SQE lead to define a browser support matrix, and worked with business units to define, fund and build a robust mobile device testing lab.

Developed and maintained websites under the butler.edu umbrella. Created accessible, CSS-based layouts. Developed front side coding standards. Assisted Butler personnel with web issues that came with the rollout of a homegrown CMS.

HTML and Flash design and development for wfyi.org, the website of Indiana's largest PBS and NPR member station. In addition to all front-end design and code, I wrote copy for the site and worked with TV, radio and community outreach divisions to better promote their schedules and efforts. I organized a comprehensive site update schedule, augmenting the information available in the well-established monthly print magazine.

Working with in-house and contract designers, I developed CD-ROMs using Macromedia Director, with a strong focus on integrated video. I defined best practices to enable our presentations to run on low-powered hardware, and learned how to juggle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
