I have my Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from the School of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My clinical interests include working with adults and children with neurological and developmental disabilities (i.e. stroke, brain injuries, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, down syndrome) engage in their life to their fullest, functional mobility, and neurological inpatient rehabilitation. I completed the AOTA Neurological Occupational Therapy Fellowship at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. This 10-month program included clinical rotations in: Brain Innovation Center (Stroke, TBI), DayRehab (Intensive Outpatient), Arms & Hands Lab (High-Intensity UE Task Specific Training & FES), Think & Speak Lab (Functional Cognition and Vision focus). Further, I guest lectured for OT students at UIC eOTD program, received extensive training, mentoring, and completed coursework in neurologic rehabilitation assessment and intervention to enhance my clinical occupational therapy skills. During my time at UIC, I have been fortunate to have completed the Illinois Leadership and Education for Neurodevelopmental and other related Disabilities (LEND) interprofessional training program as well as work as a research assistant in the Department of Disability and Human Development to promote entrepreneurship for youth with disabilities. Prior to attending UIC, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Utah where I worked as a Teacher Assistance for the Human Anatomy courses and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Department of Occupational & Recreational Therapies.
