Field Sales Representative
I was the face of the company for a large territory covering Mississauga to Erin, with over 80 customers in both retail and the on premise. My customers included government owned retailers such as the LCBO and Beer Store, national corporations such as Boston Pizza and Jack Astor's, grocery chains like Loblaw's, Metro and Highland Farms as well as independent bar owners. Acting as the intermediary, I executed on Labatt's internal sales strategy while working with each customer to tailor our approach towards customers. During this time I was responsible for increasing distribution both through the introduction of new products and incremental SKU's while also increasing same store sales through promotions and rate of sales programs. By effectively implementing category management insights at the store level, I was able to increase retail distribution by 16% and increase same store sales for most locations.
Global Management Trainee
Revenue Management:I worked with the Revenue Management and IT team to clean our key customer database and create a tool through which all of our transnational data is visible. The tool analyzed and created insights for the key account team to incorporate into their renegotiation of future contracts. The tool covered BC to ON, over 3 million data points and found $2.3mn in savings while maintaining top line revenues. Completed Six Sigma yellow belt certification with this project.Sales Intelligence:After recent legislature changes in Saskatchewan, I worked with the Calgary sales team to evaluate our Tier 1 performance in retail stores. Speaking with managers, representatives and individual store employees, I found key insights. After applying these insights to the data, a set of actionable trends emerged which were presented to the RVP of sales and his team. They were then boiled down and turned into a play back which the forecasting team and sales representatives could apply in their regular duties to increase total sales & yearly revenues.Operations: Working with operators and management at the Edmonton brewery, I isolated and resolved critical product issues on the packaging line. Using process analytics, I was able to find the root cause of pasteurizer failure and create a series of maintenance protocols which would minimize future risk and increase the efficiency of repair resulting in a 74% reduction in water use. Finishing ahead of schedule, I worked in the power house to optimize total brewery water use. I created a business case and got dedicated funding which eliminated systematic seasonal inefficiencies which reduced water use by 157,000 hL and resulted in a 23% ROI from cost savings alone. In my remaining time I worked with operators to create standard operating procedures for equipment change over and maintenance to further improve plant efficiency.
Supply Specialist
Product Management:I worked in a small team over the course of 10 months in parallel with my other job responsibilities to create a product from scratch. Using agile methodology and a series of cascading deadlines, we researched the market and created a multitude of hypothesis's. We tested them against the market and narrowed our scope to only a few potential products. My role was the creation of the product and planning its production as the supply lead. I systematically worked towards a minimal viable product which I then brewed in the St. Louis brewery. After completion I collaborated with the team to create cost estimates and a distribution plan for a potential launch. The final product was presented to senior management in Toronto, and NYC (including the NA president and other VP's) and was very well received. The product was taken over by the innovation team in Toronto to further refine and incorporate into the product portfolio under the umbrella of our largest Canadian brand.
