Writing contract compliance documentation and general support documentation for TSA baggage scanners. The contract-related work incolves writing deliverables such as CLINs (Contract Line Item Number), CDRLs (Contract Data Requirements List), and DIDs (Data Item Descriptions). The initial document requirement was a team effort to creat the First Article Test and Evaluation (FAT&E) Plan, Procedure, and successful completion Report. I created an innovative way to quickly tally daily completions of the over 600 test requirements for MDI and the TSA, while assisting the TSA inspectors with operational and documentation issues.MDI passed the FAT&E and we are now in the production phase for a delivery order of over 200 scanners to the US, Canada, and other compuntries workwide. Suppoort documents include software installation guide, operational manuals, and maintenance manuals.

I was the primary technical writer for the VectorStar line of Vector Network Analyzers which function from 70 kHz to 110 GHz. II also handled miscellaneous documentation functions for other instruments such as other VNAs, board sets, spectrum analyzers, power meters, test probes, and hand-help special purpose testing systems for the aerospace and telecommunications industry.I wrote all of the manuals for the VectorStar system which is about 4,000 pages that are released two to three times a years as PDF, paper manuals, and complied online help systems.• Produced multiple types of manuals including user guides, installation, maintenance, and quick start manuals.• I created a database puiblishing system to speed publication of over 3,000 line command set.• I worked from specifications, prints, and engineer interviews to document instrument systems.• I've developed hundreds of charts, tables, diagrams to illustrate instrument capabilities, processes, and internal assembly in maintenance manuals.• To speed localization, I developed a callout method for technical drawings to remove the English text and replace it with numbered references.

Working from my cubical in a retired transonic wind tunnel, I was a special events project coordinator for the Centennial of Flight celebrations. Events produced included the San Jose Space Day Aircraft Parade and Exhibition at the Tech Museum, and the AeroExpo for over 1,200 school children.

At Maxtor, I was the principal technical writer for Maxtor's line of network attached storage (NAS) servers. Documents included job aid cards, quick start guides, detailed operational manuals, and full repair and maintenance manuals. Other duties included mentoring junior writers and establishing documentation standards.The NAS division was purchased from Quantum and I transferred across with the division.I started at Quantum writing IS accounting and manufacturing procedural documentation using Oracle's Tudor documernation system in support of Quantum's recent cutover the full Oracle Manufacturing and Accounting suite of enterprise applications. After the cutover, I used the Tutor system to expand to other applications such as IS training and development.
