I am a physician and medical products executive with more than 20 years of clinical experience and 20+ more bringing new technology to market. I have held leadership roles in a Fortune 500 company and as an officer of several successful start-ups. As a serial entrepreneur I have led 5 companies to successful liquidity events.My stock in trade has always been my clinical expertise, which in turn, has helped me hone entrepreneurial companies into valuable businesses. My thesis is: unmet need >> elegant technical solution >> cogent business plan. In my consulting business I have broad exposure in technologies driving the pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech industries. In recent years I have been immersed in the wearable technology – real-world data – digital biomarker space for both clinical development and chronic disease management.I am proud to be an award-winning teacher at the professional school, and post doctorate level. I have given invited lectures on entrepreneurship at major universities both domestically and internationally. I continue to give presentations at major industry meetings, symposia and national summits. I believe it is my teaching skill that has enabled me to successfully promote innovations and to raise many millions in investment capital.My journey has brought me to participate in the current AI and ML tidal wave – but always informed by my clinical experience. Even with these major trends there is need for understanding the unmet need and articulating the clinical value proposition. To this end I have learned to speak the vocabularies of clinical medicine, technology development and business fluently.
