Arthur is a partner at the law firm Cox & Palmer and has an active practice in the area of corporate finance and securities law. He joined Cox & Palmer in 1995, where he completed his articles of clerkship and practiced law as an associate lawyer until 1998. From 1998 to 2004, Arthur practiced law at Fried, Frank, Harris Shriver & Jacobson, a New York based international law firm. Arthur currently serves on the board of directors of the Private Capital Markets Association of Canada, the Stan Cassidy Foundation and is Vice Chair of ALCOOL NB LIQUOR. Arthur has served on a number of other boards, including the Saint John Port Authority, United Way Campaign, the Canadian Red Cross Humanitarian Awards Dinner Organizing Committee and Enterprise Saint John.
