Chancery House is my current project, Collins Construction being the main contractor. I was excited to be moved to Pace’s largest project. I’m now managing 40 or more operatives, required for the volume of materials coming onsite for what is by far the most substantial logistical challenge Pace has undertaken.

Here I managed construction of the guest and staff wing of a substantial luxury property from its first fix shell to hand-over snagging stage, successfully managing this section of the house from start to finish. During this project, some of the achievements I am most proud of include the following: >>> Coordinating subcontractor works to ensure they stay on program and are completed to the high standard this unique project demands. >>> Sitting-in on and contributing to client progress and subcontractor meetings, then writing up concise and detailed minutes.>>> Working in a team with other site managers, ensuring all site logistics and H&S are maintained to not only meet, but exceed the highest possible standards.

I enjoyed working for this well-established electrical engineering firm where my main role has been installing uninterruptible power systems in sites around the country, as diverse as Thomson Reuters, Google, The Ministry of Defence, Sky, Santander and Vertis. I progressed to team manager, where I looked after up to eight operatives.My day-to-day looked like this: Managing my team to ensure they are all clear on the task for the day / week ahead, ensuring we have the right operatives for the work at hand. Reviewing specification / design information as required while dealing with risk and method statements for the work involved. Liaison with other subcontractors was required throughout to ensure we work together in what were often quite restricted spaces. Liaison with the overall site management team to ensure we tie in with their requirements including health and safety matters.
