As a senior developer I worked in all phases of the software development cycle, including design, coding and implementation. My time was split about 40% new development and 60% maintenance. The existing code base was mixture of most type of RPG including cycle programs with left hand indicator, RPG free, embedded SQL and sub procedures. As team lead I was responsible for system design including database design, programing standards, functional and technical design. I lead a group of programmers and business analysis. The team would be assigned one or more projects to work on. I would design the solution, usually with the teams input, put together estimates, assign the work and the track the effort to completion. For the last 2 years we have used the Agile methodology for project management. I am also the back up developer for our Laser Vault and Planet Press systems,

I was the technical lead responsible for the day to day supervision of 3 iSeries engineers. I architected all tiers including database, business logic, user interface, and operational process changes. I lead the software acquisition team from RFP to implementation; submitting status reports to project managers in this successful XML to iSeries DB2 integration. Performed business analysis of the change in EDI standards on the existing business systems. Serve as technical representative on the NCHELP standards and origination committee to help design the official industry standards for the new XML based EDI format. As technical lead on project to add a new federal mandated loan type to the existing system, I performed analysis to determine a way to add new loan types. Once the solution was identified, I supervised 4 contractors who made government mandated modification on time and within budget, at the same time, I developed the web to iSeries stored procedures. During the merger of Unipac and Intuition I was responsible for all analysis, developing and implementation for approximately 30 new EDI formats by creating new map/translate programs for each format.

Used the an old technical design left by an earlier programmer to create a group of programs to allow the entry of a final part number in the JD Edwards manufacturing system to be used to generate the full bill of goods, cost and inventory records.

Responsible for general systems maintenance, modification of existing programs and writing new ones as needed.

Served as co-technical lead for the Y2K project to expand all fields in the database and change all programs to handle the expanded year field. Helped to develop an iterative process for the Y2K project that allowed for the minimal disruption to end user community. Worked with technical lead to design, code, test and implement an agent pay incentive system.Performed general maintenance such as bug fixes, new reports and screen changes to the existing system.; Implementation of the BPCS software package. Responsible for the data conversion of inventory, MRP, order entry and general ledger modules. Modified the BPCS package as needed by the client and wrote programs for new reports and to interface with the existing system. Performed analysis and created technical design of possible solutions for add EDI input to the BPCS software package.

Implementation of the BPCS software package. Responsible for data conversion account receivable, order entry and general ledger. Worked with sales staff to design, code, test and implement a new sales analysis report. The new report replaced 5 old sometimes conflicting sales reports. Served as general AS/400 advisor for the mainframe programmers making the transition to the AS/400.

Conversion from mainframe proprietary software to BPCS software on the AS/400. Responsible for impact analysis and data conversion of EDI, inventory, logistics, shop floor data collection and MRP. Modified the BPCS codes as needed and wrote new programs to interface with the old systems as they were phased out. Converted from Collins & Aikman's EDI system to the Future 3 EDI package.
