However, development work was required to meet UL compliance requirements. Product was removed from the market.

Autofry International was created to follow up the success of this industry leader. Established distribution relationships in Europe, Canada, South America and Australia. Led distributors to improve sales with on-site training and trade show support. Adapted equipment and programs to conform to international cultures and approval requirements. The manufacturer purchased the international network in 2001.

This was a great experience. I left the financial services industry to acquire with partners a specialty restaurant equipment called Autofry. I managed the early growth of this company from concept to profitability, from 5 employes to 45. Patented equipment and secured UL approvals. Established strong brand identity. Negotiated innovative co-marketing agreement with major food supplier that became an industry model. Expanded product line to include self-service concept. Raised $5M equity with food-oriented VC company. Sold my interest to pursue international development of the product line.
