Instrument Manager - Fast Plasma Instrument Suite (Fpi)
Solicited from industry to join NASA GSFC in the role of Instrument Manager for the MMS FPI instrument Suite. At the time I joined NASA, FPI was the #1 Risk on center. I managed the development and delivery of 32 instruments and 8 fully redundant Data Processor Units. Responsible for conceptual formulation of the 'Super Suite' instrument screening program to resolve infant mortality concerns for the High Voltage Opto-Coupler, where 32 instruments were tested for an additional 1000 hours of operation. Four instruments failed (and were repaired) that would have impacted the mission on orbit. I was nominated for and received the Robert H. Goddard Award for leadership and innovation. Delivered all FPI hardware on schedule and the mission launched on schedule in March, 2015.
