I am a private investment executive with an extensive track record leading high-performance private investment portfolios. I’ve developed a global network and longstanding strategic relationships with top-tier private investment managers in the U.S., Asia, Europe, and broader emerging markets to source attractive investment opportunities worldwide. My investment experience includes private equity, venture capital, growth equity, buyouts, real estate, natural resources, and other real assets.I co-founded Franklin Templeton Private Equity (“FTPE”), a joint venture between Franklin Templeton, FTPE management, and Asia Alternatives, a leading Asia-focused private equity fund-of-funds firm. At FTPE, we developed a bottom-up, global high-alpha investment strategy and built a differentiated portfolio that’s overweight early-stage venture and growth life sciences.Previously, I served as Managing Director, Private Investments for the San Francisco Employees Retirement System (“SFERS”). During my tenure, SFERS’ private equity returns ranked annually in the Top 5 of U.S. pension plans and its real asset portfolio delivered returns in the Top 1% of its peer set. Prior to SFERS, I led the private equity asset class for the New York State Common Retirement Fund, a top-three U.S. pension plan with over $150 billion AUM.I began my career in finance at Goldman Sachs, where I learned the power of teamwork and collaboration to achieve common goals. In every subsequent leadership position, I have enjoyed mentoring investment professionals and empowering them to take on new challenges and responsibilities in preparation for future leadership roles.
