Arthur Marx is a part-time writer/editor for SpaceRip.com, XiveTV.com, and MagellanTV. SpaceRip offers fresh perspectives on astronomy and space exploration. XiveTV presents award winning documentaries focusing on history, science, and civilization. MagellanTV is expected to launch in spring 2018.In July 2009, Arthur accepted an early retirement offer from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, where was employed for 23 years. He started working at the Kennedy School in 1986 as a staff assistant to Dean Graham Allison during the last three years of his deanship. In 1989, he accepted a position as Administrative Assistant to Shorenstein Center Director Marvin Kalb and, in 1990, was persuaded to return to the Dean’s Office for a six-year stint as Administrative Assistant to KSG Deans Robert Putnam and Albert Carnesale. In January 1996, Arthur moved to the External Affairs Office (EAO) as Coordinator of Research and was promoted to Director of Development Research in 2001. In 2003, he received a “Dean’s Award for Excellence” from Dean Joseph Nye. Arthur was promoted to Director of Special Projects in the spring of 2006 and became EAO’s Senior Writer/Editor in the summer of 2008. Since leaving Harvard, he has been working on a book of poetry and on freelance projects for clients at the Kennedy School and the Buck Institute for Research on Aging.Arthur was born in New Orleans and grew up in the South and Midwest. His late father was a rabbi in the Reform movement of Judaism, and his mother is a retired teacher who now resides in Sarasota, Florida. His sister is an attorney, also in Sarasota. A graduate of Kenyon College, where he edited Hika, the undergraduate literary quarterly, and was awarded the Robert Frost Prize for Poetry, Arthur’s special interests include twentieth century and contemporary poetry, and the popular culture of his generation, especially music. He lives in Sarasota, Florida.
