Columbia Credit Union is Clark County’s largest Credit Union serving over 81,000 members in Washington State and commanding a 30 percent market share.Brought on to revitalize the performance of a struggling IT function and turn around a mission-critical systems modernization project. Spearheaded the conversion of legacy systems to a leading edge Fiserv System. Successfully implemented the conversion in only 18 months while bringing it in under budget and earning recognition from the vendor for one of the r best-executed conversions in over twenty years.Developed and implemented strategies that markedly improved the performance and accessibility of member touchpoints, including Digital Banking, Card Services, Network and Physical Security Compliance, Facilities, Member Services, Service Desk, Retail Support, BI and Data Mining, and Integration Technology. Guided the efforts of eight EVPs and VPs with down line authority for a team of 100 employees.Facilitated improvement in processing efficiency, teller performance, card services, digital payments, regulatory compliance, and disaster recovery readiness while significantly lowering costs with no reduction in headcount. Transformed Card Services and Digital Payments into omnichannel initiatives that are ongoing and correctly positioned for future expansion. Oversaw buildout of colocation disaster recovery in Denver to ensure compliance with Federal regulations. Created a platform capable of delivering deliver real-time transaction replication in seven seconds.

Quickly took on growing responsibilities while playing a key role in facilitating the bank’s rapid expansion and driving a three-fold improvement in customer satisfaction scores.Drove continuing improvement in the scope, quality and delivery of IT services as the bank grew to become an organization with $11B in assets and 118 locations statewide, including 91 branches and 27 administrative sites with more than 1,000 employees. Planned and directed the bank’s Compliance and Human Resource Management functions as well. Achieved 99.9999% network uptime by collaborating with facilities group to upgrade cabling at all sites.Facilitated five bank acquisitions in five years as Bank was repeatedly asked by FDIC to take over portfolios of failing banks. Streamlined multiple platforms to create a stable in-house mainframe solution.Upgraded an IT network while rolling out 200 new servers and over 2,300 workstations. Completed the initiative a month under schedule and nearly 200K under budget with zero downtime and no adverse customer impact.Significantly lowered telecom and equipment costs while reducing the IT budget by seven figures. Negotiated with vendors including AT&T, PacBell and HP to cut hardware costs by 40% and phone costs by 50%.
