Responsible for legal work on $1.3B SIVAM Program - an environmental monitoring system for the Amazon - and for all other Raytheon activities in Brazil. Reopened CRS office in Brazil and grew program from $50K to $3M/year. Developed programs in rural legal rights, rural water resources, AIDS patient support, and at-risk youth. Established major drought relief and seed bank program in conjunction with World Food Programme.

Worked with the Catholic Church in Tocantins, Brazil. Organized rural community groups & rural workers' unions in an area of violent land conflicts. Developed curricula and led participatory training programs reaching hundreds of participants. Supported land reform efforts. Member of diocesan and statewide land commissions.
