Performs tests and assays via thorough understanding of Laboratory SOP’s and instrumentation. Authors and revises new and existing testing, instrument, and laboratory procedures. Takes active role in laboratory QA functions including OOS investigation, exception reporting/investigation, SOP writing/revising, external team participation, validation activity, new product introduction, records review, and auditing. Performa experimental work on future products. Assists in training Chemist on wet chemistry, raw material testing, and product transfer methods.

Performs UPLC/HPLC, FTIR, TOC, KF, ICP, IC, AA, UV-Vis, Refractometer, Viscometer, Density Meter, Polarimeter, and other compendial and wet chemistry analysis of raw materials. Also responsible for evaluating material and product quality by performing various procedures in the Chemistry laboratory. While handling results through LIMS management systems. Also interacts with Formulations, Filling, and packaging personnel in support of those functions in the facility. Experience including OOS investigation, exception reporting and investigation, revising SOP, and lab auditing. Also perform Function testing on the finished products and stability samples. Working knowledge of USP and EP requirements with respect to analytical activities.

Improved quality and turnaround time for GCMS results of soil and water samples for the Semi-volatile Department, while handling data thru LIMS management systems. Also monitored and changed gas cylinders as needed.

Continued to be instrumental in assigning and improving the work of other Technologists while administering the quality control program, and ensuring that scheduled time frames were met. Advised management of problem areas, assisted in employee actions, and acted as liaison with other departments.

Responsible for storage and preparation of samples for analysis, sample extraction and workup, record keeping including calculations, and general lab and instrument maintenance.
