My project focus on the research of new opportunities for recovery of by-products from olive oil production (olive pomace and olive mill waste water) through the concept of biorefinery : the production of multiple outputs from one raw biomass. During this project I focussed on bioethanol production, enzymatic treatment, characterization of the olive by-products and the monitoring of olive polyphenols in our samples. As a project leader, I was responsible of managing the project, notably by choosing our research targets, but also the management of the project logistic (buying and setting materials, buying chemicals and consumables, setting and training on new analytical equipment, etc.). I was also in charge with the communication and through diverses meeting I created 2 partnerships with other research groups that are still on-going today. Having done a huge work of literature review, I am confident with topics such as biorefinery and recovery or conversion of biomass. I wrote my thesis in english. Show less
