Designed and upgraded a legacy web site used by internal and external users/firms to manage a secure document publishing system with 425 publishers and about 34000 documents. The original web site consisted of unsupported technologies such as Site Server 3.0, Visual Studio 95 and Java components using extensive VB script and JavaScript that was running on a Windows NT 4.0 platform. The legacy system was moved to VS 2005(46 projects with 15 business components ) with C# business objects using a mixture of ASP and ASP.Net web pages that talked with VB6 COM + components as needed to allow minimal web page user interface changes. The web pages also used Remote Scripting and XmlHttp objects to allow interactive partial web page refreshes and direct interaction between Asp and Asp.Net web pages using JavaScript objects or XML documents. These changes allowed the company to move the web site to a stable modern platform that consisted of Windows 2003 servers with Windows XP clients with supported .Net technologies using automated web site setup files. Developed a WinForm application used to migrate the Site Server 3.0 LDAP to Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) LDAP store. The data consisted of custom attributes, classes, secure document types, and document writer data that was moved to an ADAM store. This Windows application provided automated program access in order to migrate the custom data and place the necessary security groups on document types for user privacy> This process could be repeated for development, user testing, and production cutovers.
