I managed a training centre that supplied skills for the furniture industry and assisted small business start-up through an incubation programme.

At Bakker and Steyger I learnt a lot about production processes and the implementing of design into manufacturing. This phase of my career was very much a development and maturing phase of what was to come.

When I started my career I was blessed that my family owned a furniture manufacturing company and gave me the opportunity to work there. I made the most of it and did all the courses that the FITB (Furniture industrial training board) could offer. I completed my trade as a cabinet maker but always wanted to develop myself more.
