About Arthur W.

As a highly skilled and experienced Technical Support Specialist, I have spent over 10 years providing top-notch support, manual QA testing, and forum moderation for antivirus software companies (Emsisoft and Malwarebytes) in 100% remote environments. My expertise in this field allows me to provide effective solutions to complex technical issues, ensuring that customers receive the highest level of service. I am dedicated to staying up-to-date on the latest technologies and best practices in the industry, and am always looking for ways to improve processes and provide even better support to clients and partners. In addition to my technical skills, I am also a natural communicator and problem-solver, able to effectively troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently. If you are in need of a technical support specialist with a wealth of experience and a passion for providing excellent customer service, or a manual QA tester with an eye for detail and a knack for troubleshooting difficult issues, I would be a valuable asset to your team.I have worked with and personally used almost every Microsoft Operating System from MSDOS to Windows 11, I also run my own CentOS Linux server and have a reasonable amount of experience with several versions of CentOS for servers and Fedora Linux for desktops. My experience extends to running many of these Operating Systems in virtual machines using VMware Workstation and Virtual Box, and maintaining testing setups using these virtualization solutions.I've also provided technical services for businesses in Indianapolis and surrounding cities. These services included basic PC hardware and software troubleshooting, system reimaging and data backups, and building and deploying new computers and printers. I've built and set up servers (mostly Linux) for small businesses, and also set up Windows networking on Linux. On my personal CentOS server I've configured Dovecot and Postfix for mail, NGINX for HTTP/web server, vsftp for FTP access, VNC and SSH for remote access, and TeamSpeak 3 for VoIP communication. Over the years my personal server has hosted various cybersecurity related projects (HOSTS files and ransomware assistance projects) operated by others. In addition I have also installed, configured, and operated various game servers from my CentOS server (including some that had to run in Windows in Virtual Box).In my spare time I like to keep up-to-date with the latest tech and security news. My hobbies include PC gaming (flatscreen and VR), modding games, and recording/streaming gameplay videos.

Volunteer Beta Tester For Steamvr Games

This was a 100% unpaid volunteer role. Compensation for testing was a free activation code for the game being tested.Apply to join available closed beta tests for VR games offered by 3rd party game studios working with Impact Reality XR through their Impact Labs project, participate in testing as specified by third party studio for the game in question, report feedback and bugs to third party studio during testing and once testing is completed fill in post-test survey and provide review for gameplay experience.Note: I only participated in one game test, and was unable to complete it due to support for HTC Vive controllers not being ready before testing began.
