As an entrepreneur, I am active as a Java software developer and IT consultant, designing, realizing and implementing system integration solutions. One of my fun tasks is optimizing performance of Java back-end applications. Recently I have migrated a legacy Struts 1 application to the Spring 5 MVC framework.In my previous job at Atos, I instated two roles: IT consultant and Service Delivery Manager. In the latter, I accomplished to satisfy the customer to the maximum within the boundaries of a difficult SLA. Finding the right balance between saving the budget, team motivation and customer satisfaction, was the key.In the IT consultant role, I achieved to finish many small technical IT projects, often being send out as a fire fighter, thrown in at the deep end. My abilities to quickly analyze, organize and prepare a decent plan saved the projects. Often my colleagues and I have been executing the plan to the stakeholders satisfaction.In my Project Manager role at Siemens, one of my achievements was to lead a software development team successfully from the customer demand, all the way through the development cycle to the release and support phase. Although I was initially instated as a project manager, due to the needs I became more a technical lead, shifting between managing the project and hands-on where needed, including developing and technical problem resolving.Working for Siemens Netherlands as an Enterprise Content Management consultant, I have been selling, developing, realizing, implementing and maintaining ECM solutions. My career includes coaching an internship and managing projects. The first projects were ECM projects, followed by IT infrastructure, SAP, IT security and IT medical projects.Finally, I am working as a volunteer for two open-source software development projects. One is a sticky notes application called Xpad, and the other is a Linux driver development project.
