At the end of the course a single elimination tournament decided the league winners. During the course I created instructional videos discussing how to safely throw an axe, scoring an axe match, the equipment associated with axe throwing, and the organizations that govern axe throwing competitions. Student grades were based on 70% attendance and particiaption and 30% weekly quizes.

League CommissionerAbilene Axe Company Jun 2020 - PresentAbilene Axe Company is a WATL venue that offers twelve lanes for axe and knife throwing. Since 2019, the venue has hosted team axe throwing leagues. Since June 2020, I have organized the seasonal team leagues and in the Fall of 2022 expanded the leagues to include the Duals Axe Throwing discipline. Leagues typically run six weeks on Wednesday nights and we hold leagues in the Winter (Jan/Feb), Spring (Mar/Apr), Summer (Jul/Aug), and Fall (Sep/Oct). We also host periodic tournaments between league seasons. Beginning in 2023, we began hosting WATL Marathon leagues where participants can compete along side thousands of axe throwing enthusiasts who are looking for a spot in the WATL worlds championship tournament. In 2024, we began hosting weekly WATL Hatchet leagues which run eigth weeks for times during the calendar year.
