As CEO of EA Health for over 20 years, Dr. Arthur L. Gruen is committed to empowering healthcare providers. Dr. Gruen has dedicated his career to ensuring that physicians are fairly compensated for the lifesaving care they provide. Dr. Gruen also continues to serve as the Executive Medical Director of Emergency Services at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for over 20 years as well. Dr. Gruen was selected as the 2012 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for his work in founding and developing EA Health into a global healthcare safety net solution for physician shortage and availability issues worldwide, thereby enabling healthcare access and improving the health of the world community. Dr. Gruen received his undergraduate degree with honors from Harvard University, and then received his medical degree with honors from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Gruen then went on to complete a general surgery internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, and then complete an emergency medicine residency at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center. He is currently Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Gruen is also the inventor of the disposable, fiberoptic laryngoscope US Patent 6,217,514 B1. With his expertise in addressing the needs of hospitals, physicians, and their patients in the Trauma Center, ER, acute care and telemedicine settings, Dr. Gruen is recognized as a national expert in analyzing and solving physician shortage and availability issues through on-the-ground on-call payment and staffing programs, as well as in-the-air telemedicine solutions. Dr. Gruen has dedicated his work to enable healthcare access worldwide, and to improve the health of the world community.
