Lieutenant Colonel Arthur McGrue III currently serves as the Branch Chief for the Theater Army Branch under TRADOC Proponent Office – Echelons Above Brigade within the Combined Arms Center Headquarters. Prior to assuming this position, he served as the Subject Matter Expert / Advisory Team Branch Head at the Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger, Norway. In addition, LTC McGrue has served in every key position along his career to include as the commander, 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, located at Fort Stewart, GA. Prior to assuming command, he served in two different platoon leadership positions with 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; two different platoon leadership positions with 3rd United States Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), Military District of Washington; troop commander and company commander with 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Georgia; and Squadron S3 and Brigade S3 with 4th Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas. His broadening assignments include serving as the Senior Infantry Advisor and Battalion Operations Officer while assigned to 3rd Battalion, 196th Infantry Brigade, partnered with all the reserve component units located on Guam and Saipan; he has served as an OC/T at the National Training Center located at Fort Irwin, California, performing the duties as Cobra 03 and as Dragon 02; and he has served as the Executive Officer to the Commanding General, First Army. His deployments include Operation Joint Guardian to Kosovo, three tours to Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn, and one tour to Operation Enduring Freedom. Lieutenant Colonel McGrue has completed multiple NATO courses to include the Comprehensive Operations Planning Course and the Strategic Operations Planning Course.
