Responsible for conducting Brazil-focused research as part of the Rising Power Alliances Project at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. The project is a three-year, grant-funded investigation of the theoretical and empirical aspects of rising power alignment policies. It seeks to analyze non-Western perspectives and approaches to alignment, particularly those of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.Tasks include identifying and listing official Brazilian policy documents on foreign policy objectives and alignment prioritization as well as building a database of Brazilian academic publications and articles on alignment strategy and policy.

Began as staff editor responsible for soliciting, reviewing, and editing current affairs articles. Promoted to senior editor in May 2018. Now responsible for co-directing a group of four staff editors and for developing article solicitation targets, meeting print deadlines, and coordinating with the editor-in-chief. The Fletcher Security Review is the Fletcher School’s graduate student-run journal of international security affairs.

One of nine student-organizers responsible for planning an academic and professional visit of twenty Fletcher School students to Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Brazil in March 2019. In charge of reaching out, maintaining relationships, and setting up meetings with Brazilian and American organizations in the public, private, and academic sectors based in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The 2019 Brazil Trek is the fourth annual academic and professional trek to Latin America organized by FLAG, the Fletcher Latin America Group. FLAG is a student organization that advances the study of Latin America and the Caribbean at The Fletcher School. Besides its annual trek to the region, the organization also hosts and organizes a Latin America visiting speaker series, conferences, networking opportunities, and social events.

Used open-source information in English, Spanish, and Portuguese as well as public US court documents to write reports on cases of corruption in Venezuela, terrorist financing in the Triple Border Area of South America, MS-13’s illicit financial activities in Central America, Iranian covert operations in Europe, and material support for terrorism in the United States. Briefed executives, including the Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Finance and Financial Crimes, on the findings.

Assisted four visiting scholars with their research projects. Used primary and secondary sources in English, French, and Spanish to produce reports on topics ranging from the development of Europe’s security strategy, Russian national identity, and human trafficking in Mexico. Analyzed recorded interviews in Spanish conducted by one of the scholars in Mexico. Transcribed recorded interviews for Peter Baker, the chief White House correspondent for The New York Times, as part of his book project on Secretary of State James A. Baker III.
