In the network operations department which was comprised of a handful of widely skilled and knowledgeable people we were responsible for managing and maintaining all of the Network Operation Center equipment. This included every aspect of networking gear from routers, switches, desktops and servers. The servers consisted of various operating systems running Windows (2000,2003,2008,2008R2) to Linux (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu). On these servers were various services, including but not limited to:• Multiple Network Management Systems (NMS)• VMware ESX Cluster• Multiple Customer Websites• Multiple Databases (Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL)• IEA Emerald Billing Software• Email Systems (Gordano, Postini)• DHCP, RADIUS, TFTP required for one of our NMSIn addition to the above we also installed, turned up, certified and maintained hundreds of T1 circuits across the country.

As a Senior Network Technicians, I oversaw the Network Technicians, answering any questions they may have. If they could not find a solution to an issue, they would pass it to me to help them find a solution. As well as being a supervisor of the Network Technicians, I also assisted the Network Technicians with any task and filled in when necessary.

The Network Technician role spanned a few areas of responsibility. The primary responsibility of the Network Tech was to provision, turn up, test and certify equipment into our Network Management System. Another role would be to handle any issues that were escalated from the CSRs to assist them in getting the issue resolved.I also handled any house calls for our DSL and Wireless customers. For the DSL side checking the connection at the NID, installing additional filters if necessary and doing testing with the carrier. As for the Wireless this included site surveys to see if the customer could get service, signing them up if they wished and doing troubleshooting if they had any issues.

As a Customer Service Representative my responsibilities were setting up new accounts, troubleshooting existing customers with issues and billing support.
