Art founded Medical English Translation in 2020 to help Dutch medical institutions with which he has some connection to better reach their non Dutch speaking patients, by offering translation services for their websites, brochures, research articles, etc.Art founded Fun Learning English in 2009 to help elementary school-aged children become more fluent in the English language. Fun Learning English does this by using native English speaking teachers to lead small groups of young learners in a playful quest to discover the wonders of speaking a second (or sometimes 3rd or 4th) language.Prior to founding Fun Learning English, Art was the Managing Director of IEX EMEA, based in Utrecht in the Netherlands, and looked after all IEX sales and operations activities for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He was one of the founders of IEX and worked in the contact center industry from 1986 to 2009. Prior to moving to the Netherlands in 1998 his varied responsibilities at IEX included sales, pre-sales, consulting, training, product support and product development. As a trainer/consultant, he helped contact centers of all sizes make effective use of their workforce management systems. In his earlier role in product development, he was responsible for the design and development of predictive dialing outbound systems, and ACD/MIS systems for medium to very large call centers. Prior to joining IEX in 1986, he was the co-founder of a company that pioneered network operating system software for personal computers. He holds a BS degree in Mathematics and Systems and Information Science and an MS degree in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University.
