Reviewing innovative biotech projects

The team of Medical Genetics News began a new stage of scientific communication in the field of Biomedicine with the publication of its first newsletter in July 2014. The objectives are to communicate the latest advances in the area of Medical Genetics and Genomic Medicine: news In the development of genetic diagnostic techniques, studies of the molecular processes involved in human diseases, information and counseling methods for patients affected by hereditary diseases, courses and congresses.

My aims were strongly linked to catalyze the transfer of biotechnology and knowledge from technology providers (universities, research centres and hospital foundations) to its receptors (biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical industry and other companies)

My responsibilities involved the management of the research needed for the development of new drugs, exploiting a novel drug discovery platform we created to generate a broad pipeline of first-in-class drugs. Targeting genetic disorders with a large unmet medical need, our primary focus is neuromuscular disorders such as Myotonic Dystrophy.My tasks are primarily focused on the early stages of the research and development of a drug, and the outsourcing work need for our candidates reaching the key clinical value inflection points needed for outlicensing opportunities.

I was in charge of the R&D laboratory developing research projects linked to development of novel drugs for human diseases with strong medical needs as well as the identification and validation of new biomarkers, useful for the development of accurate clinical assays

Reseach on repeat unstable diseases like myotonic dystrophy
