I was called upon to integrate the formation of a new Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise (WFOE) corporate entity in Shanghai, China which was previously de-centralized in its management/integration across four separate budgets in product lines, region, and corporate center. I formed an executive steering committee from all of the company stakeholder sections, and integrated the project into a single plan of action which formed the entity operations. Integration activities spanned all business infrastructure areas, to ensure the entity can operate independently, but under existing corporate policies.

Develop markets, feasibility studies, and business cases for the development of new nuclear plant projects exceeding $10 Billion in value for customers in Europe and South America, including contributions to the management of a strategic partnership with a South American construction partner company through the support of developing a quality scope definition, cost estimate, and consortium agreement. Time in this position also included the lead/management of delivery for a multi-million dollar early-works agreement for a European customer which required collaboration across multiple business units of the company in order to provide successful delivery and greatly improved customer satisfaction. Selling a nuclear power plant is a marathon rather than a sprint; the projects I worked on are expected to culminate in signed NPP contracts in the later part of this decade.

The role advanced into programmatic leadership of risk management across the business unit, the deployment and administration of the Active Risk Manager (ARM) database tool, and the development and performance of Risk Management Training courses across the business unit, with later expansion into other business units. Operated and directed the operation of a 1.1 MW TRIGA research reactor as well as aided in the training of research assistants for the reactor operator licensing exam. Responsible for quality assurance/internal auditing of reactor operations and maintenance records, including fuel burnup and fuel inventory. Responsible for spent fuel storage, as well as participating in and leading normal operations and maintenance procedures. Unusual experience gained includes participation in a full reflector replacement, and sub-critical operations for a RACE (Reactor-Accelerator Coupling Experiment) project studying transmutation of nuclear waste.
