Drivers, Features and Enhancements for the industry leading Marvell QLogic Fibre Channel Adapters.I wear multiple hats while working on solutions for this industry leading Fibre Channel Adapters; wearing the architect hat, I help deliver solutions to the customer by engaging actively in the full project life cycle, starting all the way from requirements gathering to the delivery of the final product; wearing the lead developer hat, I design, develop, review, educate, support and solve complex customer issues.Some of the highlights include: • Architecture and Design work on the next generation 128G FC adapter (current). • Architected and developed an early FC-NVME target mode emulation demo driver for a NVME industry conference. • Architected and developed T10 end-to-end SCSI data integrity protection. • Designed and developed a user mode FC Target Driver. • Brought the debuggability of the Linux driver to a whole new level, by developing kernel crash dump tools, adding tracing, trace events etc. • Developed a technique to inject errors into driver code. • Developed a utility to capture diagnostic data when reporting issues. • Redhat partner engineer, helped drive multiple features to distro kernels, resolved customer critical issues engaging multiple partners. • Expertise on various storage stacks including SCSI, NVME, FC, TCM/LIO, SCST.[This is a staggered work, and overlaps with other projects.]

Storage Virtualization using Cavium LiquidIO Server AdaptersThis project was to showcase the capability of the High performance, Fully programmable, Networking and Security supported Cavium Liquid IO PCIe adapter. I led this project with 2 other developers involved. • Architected, designed and developed a full solution including O.S. driver, embedded firmware, driver, application, EFI driver that allowed booting using the virtualized storage. • Demonstrated virtualized storage backed by iSCSI LUNs discovered by the embedded iSCSI module to the customer.

Storage Virtualization using PCIe SR-IOV on QLogic Fibre Channel 27xx AdaptersThis project was to enable a FC target customer who wanted to provide a high performing Virtualized Storage Arrays to their clients. • A solution was provided using PCie SR-IOV. Each Virtual Function was exported to a Virtual Machine that acts as a FC target. • Architected, designed and developed the full solution that includes a Host as well as Virtual Machine part.

Test Automation FrameworkPrior to this project, testing of the FC driver involved running a whole variety of individual scripts manually and accumulating test results. I was tasked to tackle the issue. • Architected, designed and developed a test automation infrastructure using Python. • Allowed automated execution of the individual scripts using a custom configuration file, that allowed time bound as well as iterative runs of the scripts. • Script results were consistently logged at one place. • Allowed remote deployment of the scripts from a hosting server. • Allowed software to be automatically fetched and installed.

iSCSI Target Mode driver for QLogic 82xx CNA AdaptersThis was the very first time a target mode solution was brought to QLogic CNA line of adapters. Taking up the architect hat, I engaged from the start with the customer to gather the requirements, performed an investigation comparing and contrasting the product with the software counterpart, presented the architecture to customer’s satisfaction and drove the whole project until delivery. • The solution was developed for the Linux TCM/LIO target mode stack • The project was architected to fit into any target mode stack, and later down the line, this was an easy port to the SCST stack.
