Plan and Execute JICA assisted forestry sector development project in Odisha, including restoration of degraded forests, bio-diversity conservation, mangroves, eco-tourism, community empowerment, bringing convergence and synergy with various developmnet programmes, NGO participation as team with FD officials. Associated with development of Ecoo Toursim policy for Odisha, and draft bamboo development policy, and draft Forest Policy for Odisha.

Important assignments in the State Government:Served in the state at various positions at District and State level including management of Kendu Leaves, an important Non-timber Forest Product of the state, on three occasions – first at the District level during 1981-82, at the regional level (conservator of Forests Sambalpur) from 1992 to 1996, and finally as the; of the Department (KL Organization) August 2004 to June 2006. Also worked as Conservator of Forest and CCF Project Formulation and Evaluation, and General Manager Tea Plantations in the Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha Limited. Was closely associated with the formulation of “Orissa Forestry Sector - Vision 2020” (2005-06) as the Chairman of the Core Team constituted by the State Government for the purpose. Was also the State Nodal Officer for the National Forest Commission. Worked as Project Director the “Orissa Forestry Sector Development Project”, funded by the Japan International Corporation Agency, the beginning of the project; The Project which is being implemented through a Society at the State Level focuses at holistic development of forest fringe villages through restoration of degraded forest in JFM mode along with enhancing livelihoods of the people, is rated as a model project by JICA and many initiatives taken under the Project are being advocated for adoption in other Projects. Lokked after Research and Training in the field of composites from ligno cellulosics including bamboo. Associated with development of technolgy for Bamboo Mat Corrugated Roofing sheets, and bamboo based housing systems.

Imparting training to young IFS Provationers, and refresher courses for senior forest officers.
