Served for 30 years with Govt. of India in Ministry of Electronics and IT. Trained overseas, set up first Safety Test Lab in India. Later handled EMI/ EMC and most of the technical areas in this segment. Mentored Compliance Testing Facilities at national level under the Standardization Testing and Quality Certification Directorate (STQC) of the Electronics Ministry. Headed, STQC Product Certifications; Operations of NSI and Labs under IECQ Scheme; Operations as National Certification Body and CBTLs under the IECEE-CB Scheme; North India Operations for QMS and EMS Schemes. Qualified as Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, Lead Assessor as per IEC 17025 and 17065 with IECEE-CB Scheme; Assessor as per IEC 17025 with NABL and 17065 with NABCB, Factory Inspector under CB Scheme. Led assessments of Test Labs and Certification Bodies of countries like Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, UK, USA & Israel under the CB Scheme. Negotiated various bilateral and multilateral agreements for Govt. of India. Represented India as Nodal Officer to WTO on TBT issues. Was OSD to Secretary to Govt. of India for Ministry of Electronics and IT, for 10 years, contributing to various policy interventions. Served as MD of Media Lab Asia, a Section 25 Company of Govt. of India, later renamed as Digital India Corporation. Guided operations of Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology as designated Officer. Served as Member, Telecommunication Standards Development Society of India. Conceptualized, implemented and mentored first ever regulation in electronics (CRO) in India mandating testing of Electronics Goods and enabling a new era of Self Declaration based Registration with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Took Voluntary retirement from the Govt. Service at the level of Senior Director.Currently serving as MD, Conformity Testing Labs. Expanded operations in Photometry, Energy Efficiency, Toys, Batteries, EMC etc. leading to turn-around of the Company.
