Previously, I was an Application Developer at Vanguard, where I developed and automated over 15 Tableau visuals and dashboards for Access Monitoring, and used Python scripts to clean and process large datasets from Service Now. I also developed a front-end stock market simulation tool using ReactJS and Vanguard APIs, enhancing the user experience and engagement.I am passionate about data science and its applications, and I am always eager to learn new technologies, collaborate with diverse teams, and challenge myself with innovative projects. Research Assistant For Mathematics And Computer Science CapstoneTemple University Jan 2023 - May 2023Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, UsAs part of my Mathematics and Computer Science Capstone, I conducted a comprehensive study on species richness for 835 islands in the Greater Caribbean region under Dr. Jason Gleditsch and Dr. Matthew Helmus. This involved the examination of 54 biogeographic and anthropogenic variables across different spatial and taxonomic scales, aiming to unravel the ecological mechanisms that produce them, their impact on an island's trajectory, and their influence on natural relationships. To achieve more realistic predictions of species richness than conventional statistical processes and to identify the most influential drivers of biodiversity in the Anthropocene, over 30 machine learning models were constructed and compared. The results revealed that ensemble-based learning methods exhibited the highest performance, achieving accuracy scores of up to 76.85%. In tandem with this, a relational database was developed using Python and SQLite, facilitating the seamless extraction, querying, and aggregation of 11 datasets crucial for our biogeographic model. -
Undergraduate Research Assistant For Center Of BiodiversityTemple University Jan 2022 - May 2022Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, UsThe monitoring of invasive pest populations requires the collection of a large amount of spatial data to evaluate the extent of its distribution and spread. Data is often collected by several agencies at the local, state, and federal levels; therefore, collections methods and the type of data collected vary. Thus, under the Integrative Ecology Lab in the Center for Biodiversity, I leveraged existing code built to aggregate and store 350,000 data points of Spotted Lanternfly (SLF) data from field surveys, and built a consensus dataset of the species’ distribution. To enhance the effectiveness and speed of response to invasive pests, I built a cyberinfrastructure to support the storage of SLF data, to run the code on the cloud, to deploy the resulting harmonized dataset for use by federal and state collaborators (USDA, PDA), and to facilitate modeling of future spread. Specifically, I leveraged advanced techniques in container deployment and continuous integration, successfully creating an efficient Docker container to execute data wrangling processes and to address challenges related to data storage. -
