I am a multidisciplinary Machine Learning Scientist who is extremely passionate about advanced machine learning methods. I have extensive experience applying machine learning methods to a wide array of domains. In my present role, I lead the R&D for Artificial Intelligence at DeepAlert Ltd specifically focussing on computer vision and video analytics.I was an Architect for Machine Learning and AI at Persistent Systems Ltd. in my last job. I specialized in various data challenges using general machine learning methods, natural language processing, and knowledge graphs.Previously I was a SKA Postdoctoral Fellow at the Square Kilometer Array (SKA), South Africa. I used to develop machine learning methods for radio data processing, calibration, and imaging. I lead various machine learning activities and initiatives at SKA South Africa. I was the first to publish the application of Deep Learning to radio astronomy images and the lead machine learning designer for the world's first information retrieval and recommendation system for astronomy. This was designed for the Nobel Prize-winning project LIGO. Along with my Masters' student at SKA, we demonstrated the very first application of machine learning for calibrating very large radio data, and this work was presented at the NeurIPS conference 2017. In 2018 we showcased the very first application of Model Agnostic Meta-Learning to astronomy at NeurIPS 2018.My Ph.D. research demonstrated the utility of feature selection for high-dimensional complex astronomical datasets, one of the first applications of dimensionality reduction and feature selection in astronomy. I also lead the development of GPU-based high-performance feature extraction techniques for astronomy data. Moreover, I designed a robust wavelet-based feature extraction technique for analyzing brain wave signals with high accuracy. This was the first ever application of the Asymmetry property of wavelet functions. My Ph.D. collaborations were primarily with California Institute of Technology, Rochester Institute of Technology, Brock University, and IUCAA. I have published several papers related to data science and machine learning and have a patent along with IBM Research Lab.Over the last 15 years, I have worked on a variety of scientific and commercial challenges with data science and machine learning.
