- Early hire of newly formed Data Platform team which was responsible for building, operating and maintaining Motive’s Data & ML Infrastructure, Data Lake, and Data Services to enable other teams such as Data Science, Backend, and R&D. - Tech lead for Data Services contributing end-to-end to the first production ready Go service for the entire company called Track-and-Trace. The service’s implementation was used as a reference example for service implementations by other teams. - Track-and-Trace is a gRPC service, deployed on k8s, which can post-process the GPS data (lat/lon) that are received from KeepTruckin’s hardware devices. It was built to scale and handle 200k requests/sec for specific capabilities. - Led the implementation of other key initiatives including real-time data pipelines using Kafka, IoT Device data pipelines (Cell Connectivity), and Speeding Detection Service.

- Original team member of the Cloud Data Platform team where I contributed end-to-end in the technology research, evaluation, implementation, and operations of Guidewire’s first real time data platform.- Data was extracted from a customer’s DB to Kafka using Kafka Connect. Spark was used to transform the data and write it into ElasticSearch. The data was then served to the customer via Kibana visualizations. - Contributed heavily to mission critical components including the Kafka Connect framework for extracting data from SQL Server DBs, operating and maintaining Kafka cluster, and implementing customer impacting features on a data extraction management service known as Connection Service.- Developed and maintained over half a dozen other cloud-native microservices which supported the data platform and data ingestion pipelines. Microservices were deployed via Docker to ECR and then deployed on ECS using Cloud Formation templates.- Owned and managed the Data Platform’s logging, monitoring, and alerting pipeline which was implemented using Kinesis, AWS Lambda, and ElasticSearch/Kibana.

- Worked in the Security Business Group primarily focused on the ThreatGraph project.- ThreatGraph combined many different data sets into a single Graph database that is used for malware investigation and security visualizations.- Implemented ETLs in Scala to create relationships (edges) between file hashes, IPs, and domains (vertices) in a Titan graph database.- Built an application in Scala that processes 5 TBs of data (8 billion file lines) daily in a shared Hadoop cluster. - Application parses domain, IP, and file hash values from different data sources and passes the results to Spark. Spark reduces the data and then writes the results to HBase tables. - Implemented rankers which run Spark SQL queries on the HBase tables that generate the top million(s) of domains, IPs, and file hashes by volume.
